Bathroom Remodeling in Round Rock, TX

In a 1970s Round Rock house, check the drain lines before you choose a tile. In a 2000s one, you can start with the tile. Same city, completely different first question.

What this project actually involves here.

Cast iron is the thing to know about. Houses built here through the 1970s and into the early 1980s were plumbed with cast-iron drain lines, and at fifty years those are at or past the end of their life. If we are opening a bathroom floor in a house of that age, we look, and we tell you what we find before we go further.

It is not always bad news. Plenty of them are sound. But finding out in week one is a very different experience from finding out in week five, and it is the single most useful thing a builder can check in this part of the city.

In the 1990s and 2000s subdivisions the question is the ordinary one: the corner garden tub nobody uses, and whether taking it out for a large walk-in shower means moving any plumbing. Usually it barely does.

Round Rock is clear that cosmetic-only work does not need a permit, while anything structural, mechanical, electrical or plumbing does — the plainest rule of any city out here.

Common questions

What people ask us.

What does a bathroom remodel cost in Round Rock?

Most land between $35,000 to $130,000. That is where projects usually fall, not a ceiling — we build above it when the house calls for it, and every range is published in full on our pricing page.

Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel in Round Rock?

For anything structural, electrical, mechanical or plumbing, yes. Permits go through City of Round Rock Building Inspection, with about 30 business days for plan review. We pull and track them for you as part of the job.

How long does a bathroom remodel take in Round Rock?

Three to four weeks on site with the plumbing in place, four to eight if it is reconfigured. Permitting runs before any of that, so ask for the full calendar rather than just the build window.

Do you work in Round Rock regularly?

Yes. We build across Austin and the hill country from one office, with one crew and one phone number. Tell us the address and we will say straight away whether it is in our area.
